How to Apply
This residency is open to UAE Nationals and legal residents only.
Follow these steps to complete your application:
1. Review Program Requirements
- Ensure you meet the eligibility criteria and program prerequisites.
- Applicants should have a strong foundation in ceramics, design, or related creative disciplines.
2. Prepare Application Materials

3. Complete the Application Form
- Fill out the official form provided on the DCAD website once applications open.
4. Submit Your Application
- Upload all required materials and complete the form before the deadline.
- Application Deadline: October 31, 2025
5. Attend an Interview
- Shortlisted candidates will be invited for an interview (in-person or virtual).
- Be prepared to speak about your portfolio, design philosophy, and goals for joining the residency.
6. Receive and Review Acceptance Notification
- Notifications will be sent by mid-December 2025. If accepted, you will receive orientation details, class schedules, and logistical information.
7. Confirm Participation and Complete Registration
- Confirm your slot and complete any final documentation or pre-residency steps.
Application Materials
To complete your application, please prepare the following materials:
1. Portfolio
- A curated selection of 5–10 works showcasing your design skills, creative thinking, and technical proficiency.
- File format: PDF or accessible online link (e.g., Behance, personal site)
- Tip: Include detailed captions or short descriptions of each piece
2. Resume / CV
- A detailed overview of your education, creative background, and professional experience
- Include exhibitions, workshops, awards, or publications if applicable
3. Statement of Purpose
A written essay (max. 1,000 words) that explains:
- Your career goals and creative interests
- Why this residency is the right fit for you
- How you intend to contribute to the program and UAE’s cultural scene
4. Letter(s) of Recommendation (Optional but Encouraged)
- From a professor, mentor, or professional peer who can speak to your skills and commitment
- Up to 2 letters, PDF format
